How the Denver e-bike rebate works
Denver’s e-bike rebate is an instant voucher you redeem at a participating Denver bike shop — not a reimbursement you wait for. In 2026 it’s worth $675 for a standard e-bike, $625 for a standard adaptive bike, or $1,175 for an enhanced adaptive one. The standard rebate is income-capped; the adaptive rebates aren’t. Vouchers drop in timed rounds that sell out, and each one is good for 45 days.

Denver has redeemed more than 10,000 e-bike vouchers since the program began — which is why each round goes quickly. Set a reminder and apply right when it opens.

Who qualifies, and how to grab a voucher
Who’s eligible
- You live in the City and County of Denver (proof of address dated within the past year)
- You’re 16 or older
- One rebate per person — once you’ve redeemed a voucher, you can’t get a second
- For the standard $675 rebate, household income is under the cap below — or you’re enrolled in a program like CARE or SSI
- Adaptive rebates have no income limit
How the rounds work
- Get your proof ready before a round opens — a Colorado ID, lease or utility bill showing a Denver address dated within the past year, plus income documents if you’re going for the standard tier.
- Apply the moment a round opens. Vouchers are first-come, first-served and sell out — the next rounds open July 7 and September 8, 2026.
- Redeem at a participating Denver bike shop within 45 days. The rebate comes off the price at checkout; the shop handles the paperwork.
The bike must be new and bought from a participating Denver shop — Class 1, 2 or 3, with working pedals and a motor of 750 watts or less. Full-suspension mountain e-bikes don’t qualify; cargo bikes do, under the standard tier. The shop list and round sign-up live on the City of Denver’s rebate page.
The $225 state credit stacks on top
Denver’s rebate is separate from Colorado’s statewide credit, and they combine: $675 + $225 is up to $900 off a standard bike. The state’s $225 is its own instant discount at a registered retailer — no income test, no application.
$900 off still leaves a balance. Spread it out.
A voucher plus the state credit covers a big chunk, rarely all of it. Whatever’s left, you can finance — and because the rebate shrinks what you borrow, you pay interest on a smaller number.
