Vermont’s e-bike rebates,
utility by utility

Vermont skips a statewide rebate, but its electric utilities step in — and one of the deals ends June 30, 2026.

Vermont e-bike rebates in 2026

Vermont has no statewide e-bike rebate, but its utilities are some of the most generous anywhere. Burlington Electric offers up to $600, or up to $850 for income-qualified customers; Green Mountain Power offers $200 — but that one ends June 30, 2026. Both are limited to their own customers. There’s no federal e-bike credit, so these utility programs are the main help.

After the rebate

A rebate covers part of it. Spread the rest.

Even the best of these rarely covers the whole bike. Whatever’s left, you can spread out — and because the rebate shrinks what you borrow, you pay interest on a smaller number.

What Vermont riders ask

Does Vermont have a statewide e-bike rebate?

No. Vermont has no state-level e-bike rebate. The incentives come from electric utilities — Burlington Electric (up to $850) and Green Mountain Power ($200), each for their own customers.

How much is the Burlington Electric e-bike rebate?

Up to $600 for any customer, or up to $850 if you’re income-qualified. It runs through December 31, 2026 and is for Burlington Electric customers.

Is the Green Mountain Power e-bike rebate still available?

For now. Green Mountain Power offers $200, but the program ends June 30, 2026 — after that it’s gone unless renewed.

Is there a federal e-bike tax credit?

No. The federal E-BIKE Act has never passed. Vermont’s utility rebates are the e-bike help available to residents.
